Silver Point Finance, a wholly owned subsidiary of Silver Point Capital, L.P. (including its affiliates, “Silver Point Capital”), is the company’s dedicated financing business which focuses on providing custom financing solutions to middle market companies for acquisitions, refinancings, bridge loans, growth capital, balance sheet restructurings and leveraged recapitalizations. Silver Point also has a dedicated real estate lending business, focused on originating asset backed loans, typically collateralized by real estate, which includes providing solutions to borrowers seeking transitional capital, special situations and time sensitive closings.  The Firm has an extensive track record in the strategy, and Silver Point’s Founders have provided financing solutions to middle market companies for over 25 years.  Since 2003, Silver Point has originated approximately $21bn in over 420 middle market loans.

Silver Point Capital is an investment manager focused on global credit investing.  Founded in 2002 by Edward A. Mulé and Robert J. O’Shea, Silver Point Capital was designed and built to have the deep resources, expertise and capital needed to invest in the global credit markets throughout credit cycles.  Since inception, the Firm has sought to build a world class investment management firm and a business model that would differentiate Silver Point in the market. Silver Point’s business model is based on capturing synergies across the platform, building comparative advantages in every area of the Firm, hiring and training the best people, and establishing a culture of teamwork.  As of April 2024, Silver Point Capital has over 320 employees, including nearly 110 investment professionals and manages approximately $31 billion in investable assets.

The Firm’s co-founders, Ed Mulé and Bob O’Shea, have been building and managing credit and special situation businesses, including proprietary middle market direct lending businesses, together since the mid-90’s.  Mr. O’Shea was hired by Goldman in 1990 to build their bank loan business, which included underwriting, trading, sales, capital markets and research.  Mr. O’Shea went on to become the head of the global high yield and bank loan businesses.  Mr. Mulé started his career in investment banking in the Mergers and Acquisitions department at Goldman Sachs, prior to spending almost four years working in the Office of the Chairman.  Together, Mr. Mulé and Mr. O’Shea built and managed Goldman’s special situation business, as well as a proprietary senior secured, direct lending business.
